Job description

Overview

The Assistant Manager role focuses on the complete management, governance, and enhancement of pricing and trade promotion processes within the Trade Promotion Management (TPM) framework. This position ensures that promotional pricing is executed accurately, contracts are properly administered, compliance requirements are met, and exceptional service is delivered through effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and customers. The role is pivotal in achieving seamless trade execution, maintaining data accuracy, and driving continuous improvements across TPM operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement pricing activities throughout the TPM lifecycle prioritizing precision, promptness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish, monitor, and update promotional pricing, trade allowances, rebates, and customer-specific agreements.
  • Verify pricing data for promotional campaigns, contracts, and related claims.
  • Analyze and resolve pricing discrepancies by identifying underlying causes promptly.
  • Ensure all pricing strategies, trade terms, and governance policies are strictly followed.
  • Prepare, examine, and submit trade promotion contracts for Quality Control verification, ensuring alignment with approved events and terms.
  • Manage promotional scheduling and guarantee updates are consistently reflected in all systems including TPM tools, Sales Planner, customer portals, and SAP/ERP.
  • Assist with validation of claims and assessment of trade spend.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering (BE/BTech).
  • Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Between 1 and 5 years' experience in areas such as Pricing, Trade Promotion Management, Trade Administration, Sales Operations, or Finance Operations.
  • Experience within the FMCG sector is highly preferred.

Skills and Technical Competencies

  • Proficient advanced Excel skills, including LOOKUP functions, Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and data validation.
  • Strong analytical abilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with SAP, TPM software, ERP/CRM systems, Business Objects, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to organizational systems and software tools.
