Overview
The role of Assistant Manager - MEP involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works across diverse real estate projects such as residential buildings, commercial complexes, retail spaces, and mixed-use developments. The position demands ensuring that all MEP systems are installed precisely in line with approved plans, specifications, safety protocols, and aligned with the project timelines.
Key Duties
- Oversee the installation of Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, HVAC, and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems at construction sites.
- Examine MEP drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), detailed specifications, and shop drawings before commencement of execution.
- Collaborate effectively with civil, structural, architectural, and interior design teams to synchronize MEP activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to project standards, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures during work execution.
- Track progress to facilitate timely accomplishment of all MEP related tasks.
- Perform thorough inspections and quality control checks during the installation phases.
- Engage with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project workflows remain smooth and efficient.
- Verify contractor invoices, validate measurements, and confirm satisfactory task completion.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to update stakeholders.
- Resolve site-level technical challenges providing engineering solutions promptly.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and final handover processes for all MEP systems.
- Monitor consumption of materials, maintain proper inventory records to avoid shortages.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety, fire safety regulations, and all applicable statutory norms.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
- Certifications in MEP, HVAC, or Fire Fighting are advantageous.
- 5 to 6 years of experience within residential, commercial, retail, or mixed-use real estate projects is essential.
Technical Expertise
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical systems, Diesel Generators (DG), Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Lifts, and ELV systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD for reviewing and modifying engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and project management software applications.
- Knowledge of Indian Standards (IS Codes), National Building Code (NBC), and local building regulations.
- Experience in the testing and commissioning phase of MEP installations.
