Job Overview
The role demands delivering timely Management Information System reports to enable management's decision-making and to assist with regulatory compliance and audits. The Assistant Manager will monitor business performance, support special project progress reporting, highlight deviations from targets, and investigate reasons for performance discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct impact assessments related to changes in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their influence on the Group's financial position and results.
- Coordinate with multiple departments to manage IFRS transition projects.
- Support tax compliance initiatives, including VAT implementation.
- Assist with external audits and advisory consultant engagements.
- Facilitate regulatory reviews and inspections when applicable.
- Manage updates to the bank’s Medium Term Note Programme across different international jurisdictions.
- Advocate cost efficiency by minimizing waste and maximizing bank benefits.
- Participate in preparation of quarterly and annual external financial reporting schedules.
- Assist with annual audit pack preparation for approval by the Qatar Central Bank.
- Develop and implement KPIs and best practices pertinent to the financial business support function.
- Address and resolve customer queries related to bank products promptly, improving turnaround times.
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal departments, auditors, compliance, financial control, risk management, IT, branches, and subsidiaries to support timely and accurate data delivery.
- Lead enhancements to MIS tools to improve business performance tracking and facilitate timely corrective measures.
- Oversee financial analysis processes and business support to branches and subsidiaries.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual reporting processes and ensure clear communication of results.
- Prepare variance analyses and exception reports for management reviews.
- Compile and submit segmental financial reports periodically.
- Contribute to projects such as financial due diligence and analyze mergers and acquisitions impacts on the Group’s financials.
- Identify needs for MIS and Risk Management system updates and lead their implementation.
- Review reports from rating agencies and support data provision to these agencies and regulators.
- Analyze structured repo products and prepare internal senior management reports.
- Support profit and loss analyses and monthly balance sheet reconciliation exercises.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, IT, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, ideally in a reputable international banking institution.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as Chartered Accountancy, CPA, or ACCA with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience.
