Role Overview

The Assistant Manager will be positioned within the Par & Universal Life Fund Management and Experience Studies team. This role focuses on supporting the monitoring of experience data, setting actuarial assumptions, conducting impact and sensitivity analyses, and aiding in the annual Par bonus recommendation and rollout.

Key Duties

  • Assist in experience monitoring and actuarial assumption setting.
  • Perform impact assessments and sensitivity testing.
  • Support production of monthly and quarterly management reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to various actuarial projects aimed at process enhancement.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, quality deliverables.
  • Maintain documentation compliant with HSBC’s standards and guidelines.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant experience in Life Actuarial work; candidates with less experience or non-specialist backgrounds may be considered for a more junior associate role.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and coordinate across departments.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Positive team spirit with good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency or experience in SQL, Python, and/or Prophet is advantageous.
