About Park Distillery and Role Overview

Park Distillery is a craft distillery and restaurant located in Downtown Banff, known for its campfire-inspired food and wood-fired rotisserie dishes paired with unique, small-batch spirits distilled on site. It is the only distillery situated within a Canadian National Park, offering daily complimentary tours showcasing their handcrafted distillation process. The Assistant General Manager plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations and management of the venue alongside the General Manager to uphold the Banff Hospitality Collective's standards and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the venue’s operations, making swift decisions as needed.
  • Maintain and enhance sales while controlling costs including food, beverages, supplies, utilities, and labor.
  • Manage financial tasks such as invoicing and reporting as well as administrative duties related to personnel and payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure proper sanitary procedures and cleanliness standards in kitchen and dining areas are consistently followed.
  • Guarantee adherence to operational guidelines, company policies, and all relevant federal, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Maintain a professional restaurant image through cleanliness, staff uniform compliance, and appearance standards.
  • Fully embody and promote the venue’s brand, ensuring all team members deliver on the brand promise.
  • Address guest concerns promptly to foster excellent customer service and encourage repeat visits.
  • Support a positive employee experience and cultivate a strong team-oriented work culture.
  • Lead actively on the floor during shifts to set an example and provide support.
  • Prepare for and participate in regular planning meetings at various intervals throughout the year.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Comfortable with various technologies and systems, including troubleshooting, updating, and training team members on their use.
  • Proven ability as a cooperative team player who can unite others towards shared objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with natural talent for building trust and relationships.
  • A deep understanding of workplace communication and culture.
  • A collaborative working approach emphasizing team cohesion.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Open-mindedness and willingness to consider alternate viewpoints.
  • Professional, tactful, and diplomatic in all interactions with people.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as required.
  • ProServe certification is mandatory.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience within the food and beverage sector.
