Position Overview
K-State Athletics invites applications for the role of Assistant Director of Sports Nutrition, responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive nutrition program to supply student-athletes with appropriate meals and snacks that promote their health, fitness, and peak athletic performance. Utilizing evidence-based nutrition principles, the role involves assessing, educating, and providing counseling support tailored to the needs of student-athletes.

Worksite Details
The position is on-site at Manhattan, KS, with a requirement to reside in the United States upon commencement to comply with state laws. There is no opportunity for remote or hybrid work for Idaho residents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a closely related field from an accredited university or college.
- Between two and four years of professional experience as a dietitian within a collegiate or similar professional environment.
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD) status recognized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Kansas State Dietitian License within one year of starting employment.
- Capable of maintaining strict confidentiality concerning sensitive information.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills for interaction with student-athletes, coaches, and other athletic department personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nutrition or a related specialty from an accredited institution.
- Three or more years of experience offering nutrition and dietary services within a professional sports environment or NCAA Division I athletics program.
- Board Certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
- Experience with medical nutrition therapy, particularly in eating disorder counseling.
- Knowledge and experience relating to food service quality and safety protocols.
Additional Information
Applicants must be legally authorized to work continuously in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship. The application process remains open until the position is filled. Salary is anticipated to range between $50,000 and $60,000 annually.
