Role Overview
As Assistant Director of Front of House, you will uphold Rosewood's high standards across all hotel areas and teams, spearheading initiatives to embed service excellence within the Front of House. Your responsibilities include ensuring departmental action plans are applied following quality audits, collaborating on guest arrivals and departures to coordinate room allocations and amenities, maintaining a welcoming lobby presence, and supervising guest history systems and staff attentiveness to guarantee personalized, prompt service that aligns with corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive performance standards in Front of House ensuring superior quality service consistent with Forbes, LQA, and Rosewood Brand requirements.
- Manage guest satisfaction feedback effectively, including addressing any complaints with guest-centric resolutions.
- Oversee group event business ensuring all conference and event details are met in liaison with organizers.
- Monitor arrival reports and VIP guests to exceed their special requests and preferences.
- Optimize inventory management during peak occupancy periods.
- Collaborate closely with housekeeping and maintenance to promptly resolve any cleanliness or facility issues.
- Schedule and supervise associates to maintain adequate staffing during busy hours and special events.
Financial Oversight
- Identify opportunities to enhance hotel profitability by controlling resource use and minimizing wastage.
- Promote internal services and facilities to maximize guest revenue including car transfers, valet, spa, and F&B outlets.
- Lead Front Office Upselling Programs and set achievable targets.
- Conduct monthly departmental meetings reviewing profit & loss, strategies, customer matters, and planning future activities.
- Monitor department budgets, report variances, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Forecast revenues and payroll weekly, taking necessary actions to exceed budget while maintaining balanced holiday planning.
- Ensure adherence to credit procedures and participate in monthly credit meetings.
Leadership and Development
- Promote productivity initiatives without sacrificing service quality.
- Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and hygiene amongst Front Office associates.
- Develop and implement departmental policies and manuals ensuring compliance and consistency across locations.
- Ensure thorough training and motivation of all associates, fostering development of high-potential staff.
- Provide appropriate training for new hires to meet role standards post initial training period.
- Keep accurate records of associate training, development, and communications.
- Assist in creating comprehensive operating manuals defining role responsibilities and performance benchmarks.
- Participate with Talent & Culture Team in interviewing potential new staff members.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance appraisals, and reviews to support succession planning.
- Manage disciplinary and grievance procedures in coordination with Talent & Culture Department when required.
- Ensure associate welfare and motivation by leveraging insights from surveys, appraisals, and frequent personal interactions.
