Job description

Position Overview

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is seeking a dedicated Assistant Coach for its Women's Basketball program within NCAA Division I competition. The role involves comprehensive support to the Head Coach in advancing a successful basketball team while adhering to NCAA, Horizon League, UW System, and university policies. The position is full-time based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, requiring travel and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Coach by assisting with campus-only recruitment of prospective student-athletes and developing corresponding recruitment materials.
  • Analyze and break down video footage submitted by prospective players.
  • Participate actively in fundraising efforts for the women's basketball team and athletics, attending events as designated.
  • Help plan and supervise both in-season and off-season individual and team practices.
  • Contribute to social media content creation and scheduling across various platforms to promote the team.
  • Coordinate practice scheduling with facility staff at the Kress Events Center and Resch Center and assist with Adidas and uniform procurement.
  • Manage opponent film exchanges through Synergy and serve as the primary contact for visiting teams regarding practice arrangements, shoot-around sessions, laundry, and other logistical support.
  • Scout opponents and assist in developing game strategies, including coordinating nutrition, strength and conditioning, and mental health resources for the team.
  • Aid in video recording and editing practices and games as requested.
  • Organize team calendars, functions, and oversee recruitment and management of managers, support personnel, and practice players.
  • Assist with arrangements for team travel and perform additional duties assigned by the Head Coach.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and Horizon League regulations is essential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and follow guidance from supervisors and athletic department leadership.
  • Preferred background includes intercollegiate coaching or playing experience in basketball.

Working Conditions and Additional Information

The position requires significant travel and flexible hours, including nights and weekends. While primarily located on the Green Bay campus, occasional work on nearby Marinette, Sheboygan, or Manitowoc campuses may occur based on operational demands. Candidates must legally be authorized to work in the United States during employment. Employment background checks, including educational credentials and criminal history, will be conducted.
