Position Overview
Dermalogica Canada is looking for an enthusiastic and strategic Assistant Brand Manager to join its professional channel marketing team in Toronto. This role involves supporting brand strategy development, implementing B2B marketing initiatives, and managing merchandising efforts while guiding cross-functional teams. Reporting to the Brand Manager, the incumbent will drive brand plans and uncover business growth opportunities in the Canadian market, requiring strong project management skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in forming and executing annual marketing strategies, including new product launches, trade promotions, visual merchandising, and advertising targeting the professional channel.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing executions against set KPIs and ROI goals, generating reports.
- Provide insights to various stakeholders and leverage learnings to enhance business growth.
- Identify market gaps using sales data, competitive analysis, trends, and product info.
- Contribute to maintaining consistent brand image through visual merchandising, promotional materials, and activations.
- Support SKU management including new SKU processes, price lists, and order forms.
- Adapt global launch assets for Canadian market relevance and activation.
- Manage development of marketing materials in English and French such as POS displays, presentations, education schedules, events, and collateral.
- Ensure effective merchandising tools are available at skin centre locations.
- Lead professional channel communications including monthly Profit Flash, PRO Flash, and email campaigns.
- Work with digital teams on social media calendar and content creation.
- Collaborate with public relations to stay updated on earned, organic, and press media for professional audiences.
- Coordinate product training rollouts with the Education team for skincare professionals.
- Update B2B order management and e-commerce promotional information.
- Support sales with new business prospecting efforts and develop necessary tools.
- Manage projects independently from inception to completion, addressing challenges proactively.
- Balance multiple priorities and timelines ensuring business objectives are met.
- Identify potential risks, business opportunities, and process enhancements with recommended actions.
- Maintain communication with U.S. and international marketing teams for brand harmonization.
- Assist in forecasting for product launches and promotional activities.
- Monitor competitors and category trends, providing internal feedback.
- Attend account visits and industry events to deepen market understanding.
Candidate Profile
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years' brand management experience, preferably within B2B or professional channels; experience in prestige or luxury beauty is highly favored.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; French bilingualism is an asset but not mandatory.
- Able to efficiently manage numerous projects in a fast-paced setting with autonomy and resilience.
- Strong storytelling aptitude with the capability to effectively present recommendations to diverse groups.
- Interpersonal skills with flexibility and adaptability to different scenarios.
- Demonstrated project management proficiency with critical and creative thinking abilities.
- High attention to detail ensuring accuracy and detection of inconsistencies.
- Collaborative with experience working within team environments.
- Capability in analytical thinking and problem-solving to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
- Positive mindset with eagerness to learn and embrace challenges.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, Klaviyo, and SketchUp considered a plus.
- Must reside in the Greater Toronto Area.
Working Conditions
