Asset Disposal Manager

About the role

This position is responsible for leading the full asset disposal function for the bank. The role calls for building the disposal approach, coordinating execution, and ensuring the process supports broader business goals. It involves handling disposals across sales and auctions, along with keeping the workflow compliant, well-documented, and commercially effective.

Key responsibilities

You will own the asset disposal lifecycle from planning through completion. This includes shaping the strategy, identifying disposal opportunities, and managing execution across different channels such as sales and auctions. The role also requires working with outside partners including brokers, auctioneers, and approved disposal vendors.

In addition, you will ensure that all accounting entries and records related to disposals are maintained accurately and remain current. You will be expected to monitor legal and commercial developments that may impact the disposal process and to keep the function aligned with applicable requirements.

Compliance and risk

All disposal activity must be carried out in line with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, including requirements under the SARFAESI Act for financial institutions. Detailed records must be preserved for audit readiness and traceability.

Stakeholder coordination

The role involves close coordination with internal teams such as collections, business, legal, IT, and operations to keep the process smooth and efficient. You will also interact with buyers, vendors, and other external stakeholders, while handling questions and resolving grievances connected to asset disposals.
