About the Company

Jana Small Finance Bank, formerly known as Janalakshmi Financial Services, is based in Bengaluru. In 2015, it was among the ten institutions that obtained in-principle approval from the RBI to launch a Small Finance Bank.

Founded in Bengaluru in 2008, the organisation grew into India’s largest Micro Finance Institution and earned international recognition for its work in financial inclusion. It received its final banking licence in April 2017 and began banking operations on 28 March 2018.

Led by MD & CEO Ajay Kanwal, the bank aims to become a leading inclusive digital bank serving customers across all segments in an aspirational India. After the transition phase, it is serving its existing 45 lakh customers across 19 states. As of 31 March 2018, it reported a capital adequacy ratio of about 35% and a loan book of INR 76 billion.

The bank plans to reach four million additional customers by 2020. With strong expertise in banking and financial services, its senior leadership has more than 25 years of average industry experience. The organisation employs around 15,000 people and expects 500 branches to be operational across 19 states by the end of 2019, as most microfinance storefronts are converted into bank branches. Jana Small Finance Bank is regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.

Role Overview

The Relationship Manager for Current Accounts will focus on acquiring and growing current account customers, developing the book, and driving the sale of linked banking products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source new clients through market research, referrals, and outbound calling.
  • Meet prospects and deliver presentations that clearly explain the advantages of the current account portfolio.
  • Turn leads into active customers by presenting the product value proposition effectively.
  • Expand and manage the current account book.
  • Spot cross-sell and upsell opportunities for banking products and services that match customer needs.
  • Meet sales goals by promoting products such as POS, QR, MB, IB, and CIB.
