Job description
Overview
This position involves designing, implementing, managing, and continuously refining a comprehensive assessment strategy for the PhD Biomedical Sciences program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Research to plan, design, and oversee the assessment framework for the PhD Biomedical Sciences program.
- Participate in Assessment Committee meetings while providing secretarial support, which includes preparing agendas, recording minutes, and ensuring follow-up on action points.
- Communicate and coordinate with course instructors, thesis supervisors, and examination boards across both King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center and Alfaisal University.
- Assist in developing and revising assessment policies, examination regulations, and documentation of academic standards.
- Collect, track, and securely archive student grades, qualifying examination outcomes, and research milestones within a centralized database.
- Coordinate the gathering, analysis, and reporting of assessment data to support program quality reviews and initiatives for academic improvement.
- Lead preparation of documentation related to assessments required for accreditation submissions to national and international bodies, such as NCAAA.
- Provide training and support to faculty members regarding effective assessment design, rubric creation, and equitable grading practices.
- Oversee curriculum mapping to guarantee that learning outcomes, teaching strategies, and assessment tasks are aligned throughout all PhD coursework.
- Develop and manage assessment blueprints linking examination content to program learning outcomes in both coursework and research phases.
- Conduct psychometric analyses of examination results, including evaluating item difficulty, discrimination indices, and reliability metrics; generate analytical reports to inform program review.
- Adhere to all Hospital policies and procedures relevant to the role.
- Engage in educational and professional development activities for self and colleagues.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Training & Education, Health Administration, Medical Education, Health Education, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- A minimum of four years of professional experience post-Master's degree is required.
