Job description
Role Overview
This position is for an Assembly Leader supporting high-level assembly work in Loyang, Singapore. The role involves guiding assembly activities, maintaining quality and safety standards, coordinating team output, and supporting troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement across the assembly function.
Assembly Duties
- Carry out assembly of advanced assemblies that require independent interpretation of technical drawings, assembly instructions, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Investigate and resolve issues found in assembled units.
- Create simple jigs and fixtures to support assembly work.
- Conduct testing on assembled products.
- Coordinate with team members to meet output targets and productivity goals.
- Track workmanship and product quality within the group or section.
- Train new hires and support cross-training activities with technical guidance.
- Keep discipline, order, and housekeeping standards in good shape.
- Step in to allocate work and support the group when the Assembly Supervisor is unavailable.
- Help the supervisor prepare and submit weekly timesheets.
- Support rework activities for assemblies at customer sites when required.
Quality and Safety
- Maintain 5S standards across assembly areas and tools, and follow company assembly best practices and any updated procedures introduced over time.
- Observe workplace health and safety rules and ensure compliance at all times in the store and work area.
Administration and Team Coordination
- Safeguard assembly management records and keep documentation properly updated.
- Work closely with colleagues across teams and departments in a proactive, cooperative manner to support assembly targets and timely delivery.
- Contribute ideas and actions that help improve assembly management and overall operations continuously.
Education and Experience
- A minimum qualification of ITE, NITEC, HNTEC, or diploma in engineering, or an equivalent background, is required.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, is expected.
- At least 3 years of project management experience in an engineering or manufacturing setting is needed.
- Experience working with multi-discipline project teams in manufacturing and assembly environments will be valuable.
- The candidate should be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively with both internal teams and customers.
