Art Teacher

Role overview

American Academy School Qatar is hiring a full-time Art Teacher for an on-site position in Doha. In this role, you will create and deliver engaging art instruction that supports the school curriculum and encourages students to build confidence in artistic and visual expression.

What you will do

• Plan art lessons that are structured, creative, and aligned with curriculum goals.
• Teach engaging classes that introduce students to different art concepts and techniques.
• Incorporate painting and other hands-on artistic methods into classroom activities.
• Review student work and offer clear, helpful feedback to support progress.
• Help shape and improve the art curriculum with input from the teaching team.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong ability in lesson planning and curriculum development for effective art instruction.
• Solid background in teaching and art education, with the ability to guide students of different ages.
• Practical experience with painting and related artistic techniques.
• Good communication, people skills, and classroom management capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a closely related discipline; teaching certification is preferred.
• Previous experience working as an Art Teacher or in a comparable role is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of American curriculum standards will be considered a plus.
