Role overview
Amazon Now operations is seeking a seasoned Area Manager who has a proven track record of delivering strong results. This role will help build and operate a fast-delivery service for customers while also overseeing 3P store operations.
As an Area Manager, you will lead a large, varied team and help ensure your business area keeps up with demand. This is a practical, day-to-day operations role that exposes you to the complexity of managing at global scale. You will be expected to drive productivity, work closely with peers to resolve issues, and adapt quickly as priorities change from one day to the next.
Key responsibilities
- Build and reinforce a safe working environment focused on employee wellbeing.
- Review performance, apply corrective actions where needed, and keep quality, productivity, and SLA delivery consistently strong across all shifts.
- Lead and support the team while also managing administrative tasks and strengthening team culture.
- Study performance trends and recommend process changes that improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Work with other managers to align and standardize shift-level processes.
Basic qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, or at least 2 years of blue badge/FTE experience at Amazon.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or business.
- Proven ability to work effectively across functions and communicate well with people at different levels, including coaching junior team members.
- Experience achieving results through collaboration and influence.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root-cause analysis.
- Background in a fast-moving, high-tech environment, or experience handling complex tasks quickly with minimal direction and appropriate urgency.
- Self-driven working style with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver on assigned projects and tasks.
Preferred qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean methods.
- Ability to manage several priorities at once while staying committed to deadlines, or experience handling complex tasks quickly with little supervision and the urgency they require.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles.
- Comfort working in ambiguous or unclear environments.
