Job description

Job Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to lead a team of Agency Managers, ensure the recruitment of advisors aligns with strategic plans, and support the Branch Head in transforming the branch into a profitable center that meets annual business objectives.

Job Context & Major Challenges

The role involves managing Agency Managers to achieve recruitment and business targets, while navigating challenges such as manpower scarcity and retention, low advisor licensing pass rates, difficult examination scheduling, volatile market conditions, lengthy policy issuance processes, infrastructure limitations, and ensuring strict adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.

Key Result Areas

KRA1: Performance Management of Agency Managers

Oversee the performance of assigned Agency Managers, focusing on advisor recruitment and business target achievement. This includes ensuring recruitment, activation, policy, and premium standards are met, maintaining branch and advisor profitability, tracking advisor contests and training needs, sharing best sales practices, supporting AMs in sales and recruitment, overseeing market conduct, maintaining sales reports, developing Agency Managers through goal setting, and enabling team progression.

KRA2: Persistency and Business Health Management

Manage persistency and ensure the overall health of the business within the allotted branch to meet functional goals. This involves managing sales force attrition within benchmarks and maintaining business quality for improved persistency.

KRA3: Relationship Management

Cultivate and maintain strong internal and external relationships to drive performance. This includes fostering healthy relationships with Agency Managers and all relevant departments, maintaining direct contact with advisors, ensuring effective communication of new products and schemes, and regularly visiting top-performing advisors.

KRA4: Local Sales Promotion

Drive local sales promotion initiatives to support team members in achieving business targets. This involves identifying sales promotion opportunities and developing innovative promotional activities, as well as actively driving various contests.

KRA5: Risk Management

Ensure all business activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and regulatory environments. This includes performing basic screening and sanity checks on applications to ensure healthy business introduction and being responsible for the market conduct of assigned Agency Managers and their teams.

KRA6: Administrative Responsibilities

Manage branch administrative duties in the absence of the Branch Head. This includes assisting the Branch Head with administrative tasks, monitoring operational costs, and facilitating the resolution of people or client-related issues.

KRA7: Team Management

Foster team development through continuous on-the-job training and skill enhancement. This involves mentoring, supervising, and coaching the team, providing both on-the-job and classroom training, and ensuring periodic job rotation for broader exposure.

Additional Information

The role requires ensuring business is conducted in accordance with compliance and regulatory environments. It also involves assisting the Branch Head with administrative responsibilities and potentially taking on those duties in their absence, including monitoring operational costs and resolving issues.
