Area Head of Cold Chain Logistics

Role overview

This position is responsible for leading the Area product direction for cold chain logistics and temperature-controlled offerings in Jiddah, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on shaping the service portfolio, aligning it with market demand, and turning product strengths into commercial value for customers and the sales team.

Key responsibilities

• Set and steer the Area strategy for cold chain logistics and temperature-controlled solutions.
• Shape the product portfolio based on market demand, customer expectations, operational feasibility, and business priorities.
• Serve as the Area specialist for cold chain logistics, temperature-controlled solutions, and temperature-sensitive cargo handling needs.
• Translate product capabilities into clear business value for sales teams and customers.
• Work in close partnership with Sales to understand client needs, market opportunities, and commercial obstacles.
• Support customer conversations with product knowledge, solution design input, technical direction, and commercial positioning.
• Build and maintain the Area product roadmap, covering product development, service upgrades, market growth, and performance gains.
• Carry out market and competitor analysis to identify growth potential, product gaps, pricing movements, and customer pain points.
• Take ownership of the product financials, including complete profit and loss accountability.
• Track revenue, costs, profitability, volumes, yield, and margin results.
• Prepare recurring product forecasts together with Sales and Execution teams.
• Find ways to improve revenue growth, cost efficiency, margin performance, and product competitiveness.
• Partner with Finance and Commercial teams to ensure pricing, cost structures, forecasts, and service models remain financially viable.
• Coordinate across Sales, Operations, Customer Experience, Finance, and regional/global teams to support effective product delivery.
• Influence stakeholders without direct reporting lines to align priorities, solve issues, and deliver outcomes.
• Measure product performance against agreed KPIs and push continuous improvement initiatives.
• Share product knowledge and guidance with internal teams.

Candidate profile

• Proven background in product management, commercial management, logistics, supply chain, or a closely related area.
• Solid understanding of cold chain logistics, temperature-controlled solutions, temperature-sensitive cargo, and the operational requirements involved.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to interpret customer needs and help Sales convert opportunities.
• Strong financial capability, including P&L management, forecasting, profitability analysis, pricing, cost control, and performance monitoring.
• Ability to develop and adapt products for the Area market while staying aligned with regional or global product strategies.
• Well-developed stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without formal authority.
• Comfort working independently, setting priorities, and handling most business situations with limited direction.
• Clear understanding of how Product, Sales, Operations, Customer Experience, and Finance connect and depend on one another.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to operate effectively in a complex, cross-functional, commercially demanding environment.
