Job description
About Woods Bagot
Woods Bagot creates architecture and design solutions for a rapidly evolving world, aiming to deliver lasting outcomes that are shaped by exploration, positive impact, and a strong sense of community. With a design culture rooted in creativity, resilience, and purpose, the firm focuses on work that supports client goals and leaves a meaningful legacy.
The company is part of the 7C Network, an integrated group of design and architecture businesses delivering a “Total Place Design” approach. Through brands such as Woods Bagot, ERA-co, Impact Futures, and Customs Bureau, the network offers capabilities across placemaking, sustainability, architecture, interior design, and luxury concepts.
Role Overview
This Auckland-based contract opportunity is for Architects or Designers with 4 to 10 years of experience to support education projects across Australia over a 6-month period. The position is ideal for someone with a solid background in education-focused architecture, such as schools, tertiary institutions, or similar facilities, and who is comfortable working through both design development and documentation.
You will collaborate closely with Principals and Project Leaders in a studio environment while also coordinating with teams across Australian offices. The work will contribute to considered, design-led learning spaces that address the needs of users and deliver broader community value.
What You Will Bring
The ideal candidate is a driven, design-oriented Architect or Designer with prior education-sector project experience. You should enjoy working in collaborative settings and combine creative thinking with technical strength, particularly when shaping environments that encourage learning, participation, and community connection.
Application Notes
Applicants must provide a resume and a portfolio link when applying. Applications will be handled confidentially. The company does not accept unsolicited submissions from agencies, and any personal information collected will be used only for recruitment purposes.
Mandatory Requirement
To be eligible for this role, you must already have the legal right to work in New Zealand at the time of application.
Equal Opportunity and Workplace Culture
Woods Bagot is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes people regardless of race, colour, ethnicity, ancestry, religion, creed, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship status, marital status, disability, gender identity, gender expression, or veteran status. The company values a diverse workforce as a foundation for creativity and innovative design, and promotes an inclusive environment where differences are respected and everyone can feel they belong.
With a global studio network spanning strategists, experience designers, and scientists, the organisation aims to support people in bringing their full selves to work while building a rewarding career.
