Role Overview

This position is part of the Globalization team and focuses on delivering a superior Arabic user experience by ensuring language quality, localized UX, content effectiveness, and product readiness tailored specifically for Arabic speakers. The successful candidate will treat localization as a strategic product discipline rather than a simple translation task, leveraging AI tools within localization processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to maintain and improve Arabic language quality through localization reviews, UX testing, and identification of linguistic, functional, and cultural issues to optimize the local product experience.
• Implement and enhance AI-driven localization workflows using large language models (LLMs), including prompt design, quality assurance of AI outputs, and machine translation post-editing; document findings and share insights with the team.
• Correlate localization quality with Arabic content performance and SEO, utilizing user feedback and market analytics to drive improvements in user acquisition, conversion, and engagement.
• Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams—Product, Design, Content, Engineering, Marketing, and SEO—to ensure Arabic users receive a truly localized product experience encompassing right-to-left (RTL) design, cultural appropriateness, dialect and tone selection, and content preparedness.
• Manage Arabic localization projects end-to-end, coordinating timelines, quality benchmarks, and communications with stakeholders and external vendors to deliver on objectives.
• Advocate for Arabic-speaking users by gathering and analyzing customer feedback, offering recommendations to refine UI, UX, and content strategies to enrich local experiences.
• Oversee language service providers and freelance contributors by providing performance feedback, conducting training, and ensuring adherence to high standards.
• Maintain and evolve Arabic translation resources such as style guides, glossaries, and translation memory assets in alignment with product and market evolution.
• Supply insights on Arabic market trends, competitive activity, opportunities, and risks to inform strategic decisions across teams.
• Ensure all Arabic content remains faithful to the global brand voice while resonating with local audiences through culturally attuned brand tone standards.

Candidate Profile

• Native-level Arabic fluency combined with professional proficiency in English.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in translation, linguistics, communications, content marketing, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience managing Arabic translation, localization, or language quality assurance projects from initiation to successful completion.
• Skilled in conducting detailed localization reviews, functional and linguistic testing, and language quality initiatives focused on Arabic-speaking markets.
• Practical experience using AI/LLM tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, machine translation systems) integrated into localization workflows, capable of prompt engineering, AI output evaluation, and editing post-processed content.
• Competence with Translation Management Systems (TMS) and Content Management Systems (CMS).
• Cultural adeptness in creative translation and transcreation, including dialect vs. Modern Standard Arabic choices, gender and formality nuances, and religious/cultural sensitivities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills facilitating effective partnerships with diverse teams and external vendors.
• Experience conducting market research, synthesizing customer insights, and recommending UI/UX improvements to enhance local user engagement.
• Track record in assessing and managing language service providers through constructive feedback, performance monitoring, and training.
