Role Overview
The Application Specialist I offers vital technical and sales assistance to customers, handling quotations, order processing, product advisories, and query resolution. This position acts as a liaison among customers, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain outstanding service levels, promote sales growth, and ensure smooth project completion.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and monitor customer quotations ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
- Deliver technical guidance, product recommendations, pricing, and proposal creation aligned with customer needs.
- Interpret customer demands into precise product and solution proposals.
- Manage order processing and track order status until finalization.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to guarantee timely deliveries and promptly address issues.
- Maintain communication with customers via phone and email to handle product, order, and technical questions.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot customer problems, working closely with internal and manufacturing teams for resolution.
- Provide after-sales support to uphold high customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to business expansion by identifying upsell opportunities and nurturing client relationships.
- Compile proposals by factoring in customer requirements, market trends, and available products.
- Document and organize detailed records of quotes, orders, and relevant project materials.
- Gather and arrange vendor documentation necessary for customer projects.
- Assist in collection efforts and payment follow-ups in coordination with the accounting department.
- Adhere to prescribed sales processes, systems, and procedures to maintain efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of a college diploma in a related discipline.
- 3 to 6 years' experience in technical sales, customer service, inside sales, or similar roles.
- Competence with order entry and quotation software such as Epicor P21 or equivalents.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic setting.
- High attention to detail ensuring accurate work output.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective organizational skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Bilingualism in English and French is a plus.
