Position Overview

The Application Engineer role is centered on providing technical support with a focus on customer quotations and case studies related to composite applications. This role necessitates an understanding of client needs and swiftly illustrating how composite innovations can address those needs, including cost estimates, timelines, and resources in proposals. Travel with the business development team to client sites for detailed discussions is part of the responsibilities.

Key Duties

• Deliver technical customer support by responding to inquiries with thorough evaluations on building management systems, scheduling, tooling costs, and submitting design and process improvements to meet product requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations teams to grasp fabrication methods, conventional composite materials, and customer demands to create design specifics for sales and clients.
• Provide product engineering details through presentations on client proposals, including 3D visualizations of products and tooling.
• Prepare cost approximations by analyzing blueprints, plans, and customer documentation in consultation with engineers and professionals.
• Design conceptual composite components and assemblies supporting proposal development.
• Create precise solid and surface CAD models of components and assemblies.
• Compile detailed bills of materials for proposals.
• Collaborate effectively with design, engineering, and operations teams.
• Knowledge of air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, and controls related to Johnson Controls Metasys is an asset.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Process & Instrumentation Engineering or Electrical Engineering with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and software like Pcvue or ICONICS.
• Experience with transportation or other composite materials is preferred.
• Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills.
