Overview
Kautilya Industries invites applications for a skilled apparel designer with a focus on UK market trends. The role involves designing both jersey and woven garments for men's and women's seasonal collections, with a strong emphasis on technical proficiency and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop seasonal collections specializing in jersey and woven fabrics for the UK market's men and women segments.
- Prepare detailed technical specifications and Tech Packs to guide production processes.
- Coordinate sample making, fittings, and iterative refinements to ensure product quality and design accuracy.
- Possess hands-on expertise in machine and computer embroidery techniques, including precise documentation and design preparation.
- Assist in the establishment and setup of the showroom to display collections effectively.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- In-depth understanding of jersey and woven fabric types and characteristics.
- Proficiency in creating clear technical illustrations and specification documents.
- Skilled handwriting for machine and computer embroidery documentation.
- Experience with design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is highly valuable.
- Ability to manage timelines and work efficiently under pressure.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) degree specializing in Fashion Designing.
