About the Role

A confidential reputable bank and regulated financial institution in Dubai seeks to recruit an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Analyst. This position involves supporting daily financial crime operations with a focus on AML, KYC/CDD, screening, transaction monitoring, case documentation, and escalation processes within a regulated framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support across AML functions including KYC/CDD, screening processes, transaction monitoring, and escalation workflows.
  • Examine client documentation, profiles, risk ratings, and transaction activities for thoroughness and correctness.
  • Perform or assist with sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), and adverse media screening and clearly document the findings.
  • Analyze transaction monitoring alerts by reviewing client activity, spotting red flags, and compiling case notes.
  • Detect gaps, irregularities, suspicious activities, and determine when cases need escalation.
  • Keep comprehensive trackers, case notes, evidence files, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Risk, Onboarding, and Customer teams to resolve outstanding issues within established SLAs.
  • Support periodic customer reviews, ensure customer file updates, conduct QA checks, and assist in remediation efforts as required.
  • Contribute to management information (MI) reporting on case volumes, pending tasks, escalations, quality concerns, and recurring trends.
  • Assist in enhancing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, templates, and financial crime processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Law, Risk, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Between 0 to 4 years of experience in financial crime, AML, KYC/CDD, screening, transaction monitoring, compliance operations, banking, fintech, or risk operations.
  • Fundamental knowledge of AML/KYC principles, red flags, sanctions screening, customer due diligence, and risk-based approaches.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in managing customer files, case records, and data trackers.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and comfort handling operational data and generating reports.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication; additional proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in banking, fintech, payments, insurance, wealth management, cryptocurrency, or regulated financial sectors.
  • Exposure to Customer Due Diligence/Enhanced Due Diligence (CDD/EDD), transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, quality assurance/control, periodic reviews, or remediation projects.
  • Familiarity with AML screening tools such as World-Check/Refinitiv, Dow Jones, ComplyAdvantage, LexisNexis, Actimize, Oracle FCCM, or equivalent.
  • Professional certifications or progress toward CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), ICA, CFE, or related qualifications.
