Role Overview
The Animal Attendant position involves the daily compassionate care and welfare management of animals housed at RSPCA NSW shelters and rehabilitation centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality animal care aligned with RSPCA NSW Shelter Standards
- Maintain hygiene and enforce disease prevention measures in all animal care areas
- Promote animal well-being via regular interaction, exercise, and enrichment activities
- Administer feeding, grooming, and support veterinary procedures
- Support behavioural modification programs, facilitate adoptions, and assist in community education efforts
Requirements
- Certification in Animal Care or a related field
- At least six months' experience handling animals
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Good physical fitness and emotional resilience necessary for the role
