Role Overview - Real Estate Investment Banking Analyst

Located in Toronto, the Analyst will join RBC Capital Markets’ largest dedicated Real Estate corporate finance team in Canada, which has offices in Toronto, Montréal, Calgary, and New York. This group delivers comprehensive financial services including Equity and Debt Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Advisory & Valuation to a diverse clientele comprising public and private companies, corporates, and governments. Analysts collaborate closely with M&A, ECM, DCM, and Leveraged Finance teams to support client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth evaluation and financial analysis to understand client needs, including creating sophisticated financial models.
• Assist in structuring and executing financial transactions, progressively assuming more accountability.
• Conduct detailed financial and written analyses of companies and relevant industries.
• Contribute actively to preparing materials and presentations for client meetings.
• Research current market trends and analyze growth opportunities for clients.
• Support the execution of equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and various financial advisory projects.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline from a recognized university.
• Robust quantitative aptitude emphasizing financial analysis, accounting principles, and financial theory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize effectively within a fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Demonstrates collaboration, relationship-building, clear communication, integrity, and embraces diversity and inclusion.
• Thrives in team settings and performs well under pressure with tight deadlines.
