Role Overview
We seek a dedicated AML/CTF Analyst to join our first-line AML team within the Legal & Compliance department. Reporting to the AML/CTF Lead, this role is crucial in ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations. The incumbent will scrutinize customer transactions, accounts, and behaviors, perform KYC and due diligence reviews, evaluate sanction alerts, and assist in remediation and reporting functions.
Daily Responsibilities
- Analyze customer transactions, behaviors, and accounts for signs of money laundering or terrorism financing.
- Conduct enhanced due diligence processes including gathering source of funds and wealth data.
- Manage ongoing customer due diligence and transaction monitoring activities.
- Review customer accounts and document findings from investigations.
- File Suspicious Matter Reports and other required reports with AUSTRAC in compliance with regulations.
- Develop comprehensive investigative rationales and provide recommendations for further review.
Candidate Profile
- Knowledge or prior experience in KYC, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring.
- Excellent analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information with the highest discretion.
- Strong written communication skills, especially in documenting investigation outcomes.
- Confidence in building professional relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Clear articulation of investigation rationale and recommendations.
