Job Overview
The Alternative National Service Officer supports the Senior National Service Affairs Administrator in executing the operational plan for the Operations Unit, maintaining ongoing engagement with conscripts undergoing Alternative National Service.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with the Authority’s policies, procedures, and the Alternative National Service Section's strategic goals.
- Oversee the preparation of periodic reports and ensure timely submission to the direct manager.
- Foster a positive work environment promoting teamwork, creativity, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
- Coordinate effectively with stakeholders to ensure delivery of required services and support internal communication between departments.
- Manage refresher training sessions for conscripts from previous cohorts following the approved training plan and submit reports to the National and Reserve Service Authority.
- Develop and execute recall plans for conscripts during crises affecting food security, in collaboration with relevant emergency and national authorities.
- Adhere strictly to security protocols when accessing and updating data related to the Alternative National Service program.
- Organize conscript graduation activities, coordinating all logistical arrangements with relevant Authority entities.
- Plan and monitor media coverage of Alternative National Service activities aligned with approved media policies and obtain necessary approvals.
- Identify uniform and safety equipment requirements for conscripts and coordinate provision with internal departments.
- Compile and submit lists of accepted and rejected candidates for service at vital food facilities to the Head of Operations Unit and subsequently to the National and Reserve Service Authority.
- Manage graduation logistics including venue booking, distribution of materials, printing certificates, and collaboration with the Communication Team.
- Develop and oversee work plans for Training Coordinators, supervising the execution of operational plans within the program.
- Evaluate Training Coordinators’ performance throughout implementation phases.
- Carry out any additional duties delegated by the direct manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a closely related area.
- Minimum of two years professional experience.
- Proficient in written and spoken Arabic at an advanced level.
- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
