Overview
Qatar Airways is seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic – Machinist to be stationed in Doha, Qatar. This position falls within the Engineering job family and focuses on precision machining tasks essential to aircraft maintenance and parts fabrication.
Responsibilities and Role Details
- Operate CNC milling, CNC lathe, and vertical drilling machines in a reputable aircraft maintenance or Manufacturing Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment or aircraft parts production facility.
- Use various tooling such as drilling, boring, honing tools, and fixtures, with a mandatory understanding of standard tooling standards.
- Perform manual programming of CNC machines efficiently and accurately.
- Have a foundational knowledge of Siemens NX software applications relevant to machining.
- Follow all safety protocols and operating instructions that arise from manufacturing processes.
- Adhere strictly to airworthiness directives to ensure compliance at every stage.
- Interpret and analyze aircraft maintenance manuals, component maintenance manuals, structure repair manuals, and technical drawings to determine repair and fabrication needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a High School diploma, vocational diploma, or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years related work experience is acceptable.
- Possession of a degree, equivalent diploma, or license in Aircraft Maintenance.
- Holds at least a basic ICAO Type II license.
- Trade-related certifications and reinforcement training relevant to the position.
- Minimum one-year practical experience in the relevant technical or workshop field, preferably in a recognized airline environment.
- Valid and recognized aeronautical and technical training certificates.
