Overview
The Aircraft Mechanic for the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) Shop within the Avionics Workshop will execute essential maintenance tasks conforming to authorized technical documents, Qatar Airways standards, and established procedures. This role demands adherence to exemplary shop practices and safety protocols to achieve operational targets efficiently. Responsibilities include completing assigned duties within prescribed timelines, demonstrating high technical skill amidst time pressures.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete allocated maintenance and repair tasks to ensure excellent customer service levels.
- Operate specialized workshop tools and equipment to meet project deadlines.
- Interpret work instructions independently, ensuring continuous operations without constant supervision under normal conditions.
- Contribute to other department assignments as directed by leadership.
- Strictly follow company health and safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensure timely and compliant rectification of aircraft components in line with QCAA/EASA PART-145 standards and quality requirements.
- Motivate and lead team members by example, fostering awareness of health and safety among personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a High School or Vocational Diploma/Equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 2 years of related work history.
- Possession of a Degree or diploma/license in Aircraft Maintenance.
- Hold at least a basic ICAO Type II license.
- Have completed trade-related certifications and OEM component-specific training.
- At least one year’s hands-on experience working with IFE workshop components.
- Possess foundational knowledge in IFE maintenance tasks including soldering, wiring repairs, connector servicing, and EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) practices.
- Completion of trade reinforcement training and recognized aeronautical/technical certifications.
- Demonstrate sufficient skill and knowledge of the work area or 1-year experience at a comparable workshop within a recognized airline.
