Air Logistics Customs Clearance Specialist

Role Overview

Joining the Freight Logistics and Operations team, you will play a vital role in enhancing processes to ensure effective movement of shipments and inventory. This includes facilitating timely delivery of critical items such as medicines and industrial components. Your work directly supports efficient cargo handling and delivery.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee shipment tracking and manage comprehensive air logistics operations to meet service deadlines.
• Manage all aspects of customs clearance for air cargo shipments.
• Coordinate with Ground Handling Agents (GHA) for cargo collection and handover, including issuing delivery orders, booking slots, and managing customs inspections as required.
• Assign customers or agents for direct terminal collection when necessary.
• Organize transportation to ensure prompt cargo pickup and delivery.
• Keep shipment milestones current and upload pertinent documents promptly.
• Prepare, verify, and manage shipping documents such as exit and entry forms, claims, and related paperwork.
• Address discrepancies like missing or damaged cargo, generate damage reports and claims, and provide timely updates to relevant parties.
• Report any operational issues, disputes, or inconsistencies immediately to supervisors or managers.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience in air logistics operations, particularly with Aircraft on Ground (AOG) cargo.
• In-depth understanding of customs clearance procedures and air cargo handling methodologies.
• Prior experience leading teams or managing operational activities.
• Strong communication abilities and skilled in managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Capability to work efficiently under pressure managing several tasks simultaneously.
• High precision with a focus on operational accuracy and compliance.
• Proficiency in handling shipment documentation and milestone tracking.
• Possession of a valid driving licence.
• Flexibility to work within a shift-based roster.
