Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is posted for a partner employer that handles the application review and all subsequent hiring steps. The position is for an AI Engineer based in Germany and is designed for a remote international setup.
You will join a high-performance engineering team building and scaling AI solutions powered by large language models and live data streams. The work combines machine learning, distributed systems, and advertising technology, with a strong focus on scale, speed, and low latency. Your contributions will help shape both internal tools and customer-facing experiences through retrieval systems, conversational products, and intelligent decision-making components.
The role also includes strengthening the underlying data stack needed for LLM applications and future AI workloads. You will work closely with engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders in a collaborative environment that values experimentation, fast feedback, and ownership. There will be room to explore emerging AI tools and help influence the long-term technical direction of generative AI initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Create, enhance, and support AI components based on LLMs for internal workflows and external applications.
- Build solutions involving information retrieval, embeddings, chat-style interfaces, and automation logic.
- Test, compare, and adopt new models, frameworks, and system designs as generative AI evolves.
- Strengthen data infrastructure so LLM-based systems remain scalable and dependable.
- Work with engineers, analysts, and product teams to identify promising AI use cases and deliver them.
- Help guide the technical direction of generative AI systems in a large-scale AdTech setting.
- Support production systems that must handle high throughput, minimal latency, and very large data volumes.
Requirements
- Strong Python development background, including experience with NumPy and Pandas for data work.
- Good command of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Practical exposure to AI/ML technologies such as LLM inference, embeddings, vector databases, or ranking systems.
- Experience with distributed systems or container-based setups; Kubernetes is an advantage.
- Understanding of core machine learning ideas and data-driven problem solving.
- Strong analytical ability and the confidence to debug complex systems independently.
- Self-driven working style with accountability, initiative, and ownership.
- Helpful extras include Java, time-series analysis, or experience in large-scale advertising or real-time systems.
Benefits
- Competitive pay benchmarked against international remote engineering roles.
- Chance to work on AI platforms that process billions of real-time events.
- Remote-first global environment with flexibility and a high degree of autonomy.
- Exposure to advanced generative AI tools and rapid experimentation cycles.
- Flat engineering structure with direct access to technical leadership.
- Strong ownership of meaningful projects with production impact at large scale.
- Opportunity to help shape the future of LLM-based systems in a fast-growing AdTech company.
Application process and privacy notice
The partner employer manages the full hiring process. Applications are reviewed through an AI-assisted matching workflow designed to assess fit against the role’s core requirements. Shortlisted candidates are then shared with the hiring company for the next steps, including interviews or assessments.
By submitting an application, you consent to the processing of your personal data for candidate evaluation and for sharing relevant information with the hiring employer. This is done under legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures where applicable, including GDPR-based rights such as access, correction, deletion, and objection.
AI tools may be used to support parts of the recruitment workflow, including resume review, application analysis, and consistency checks. These tools assist the recruitment team but do not replace human decision-making. Final hiring decisions are made by people.
