AI Engineer Intern

Role Overview

Jurong Port is looking for an AI Engineer Intern to contribute to projects involving artificial intelligence, data, and advanced analytics. The role focuses on supporting vendor-led initiatives, testing and improving AI solutions, and helping teams adopt practical AI tools for operations and planning.

What You Will Do

• Assist with vendor-managed projects and help evaluate AI and data models, including big data use cases, to align solutions with business needs.
• Work on use cases across natural language processing, computer vision, chatbots, and large language models.
• Try out and assess generative AI systems and AI agents, review their performance, and refine approaches based on results.
• Gather input from end users to improve how AI tools are deployed and adopted.
• Support and help deliver data and AI workshops or training sessions for staff to strengthen the use of analytics and AI in operations and planning.
• Create and apply code for data transformation, including ETL, normalization, aggregation, and related data visualization and analytics tasks in Power BI.

What We Are Looking For

• You should be pursuing a degree in Applied AI/ML, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline; current undergraduate or graduate students are preferred.
• You need to be comfortable programming in Python, SQL, or Java.
• Exposure through coursework or prior experience in data analytics and visualization would be an advantage.
• Basic familiarity with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers is preferred.
• Experience with LLMs, generative AI tools such as OpenAI and LangChain, or deep learning will be considered a plus.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform through study or work is also an advantage.
• You should bring strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, adaptability, curiosity, and enthusiasm for emerging technologies.
