About the Role
Tirlán, a leading global food and nutrition co-operative with a diverse range of product lines including well-known brands such as Avonmore and Kilmeaden Cheese, invites applications for the position of Agronomist in County Laois. This role involves managing and expanding sales within a portfolio of key tillage customers and contributing technical expertise related to tillage operations aligned with Tirlán’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow relationships with existing and potential tillage customers, aiming to meet specific sales objectives.
- Ensure timely cash collection and maintain debtor balances as per company targets.
- Maintain comprehensive customer data and insights.
- Deliver specialized technical advice in tillage to clients, representing Tirlán’s technical messaging.
- Implement marketing campaigns and plans coordinated with business strategies.
- Collaborate closely with other departments including branch networks, ruminant sector, and the agronomy team.
Requirements
- Professional qualification in Agriculture or a discipline closely related.
- Extensive knowledge across various agricultural sectors.
- Strong comprehension of retail standards and an active interest in retail practices.
- Proficiency with computer systems including SAP, EPOS, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and satisfy customer needs.
- Resilience to thrive in a competitive market environment.
- Sound commercial judgment focused on product sales performance.
- Capability in planning, managing time efficiently, and meeting deadlines.
- In-depth understanding of the technical aspects of tillage farming operations.
