About the Programme
Join Westpac New Zealand's 2027 Graduate Programme as an Agribusiness Graduate to launch your career in Agribusiness Banking. This programme offers a permanent position designed to nurture future leaders within the banking sector, providing robust professional networks and an immersive experience starting from February 2027.
You'll work alongside experts who specialize in financial solutions tailored for agricultural clients. Many team members come from farming backgrounds, providing deep insight into New Zealand's agricultural sector. The programme is based primarily in Waikato and spans approximately 10-12 months, beginning with a comprehensive orientation to Westpac and cohort engagement. Upon completion, graduates are supported in transitioning into roles suited to their skills and interests within Westpac.
Programme Experience and Development
Extensive learning opportunities and mentorship are key features, including support from Agribusiness banking champions, leaders, and mentors. Customized training will polish your technical and interpersonal skills to fast-track your career growth. Participants can also engage in community involvement, volunteer efforts, and sustainability activities to enrich their work-life experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop thorough knowledge of Westpac’s banking products and the agribusiness sector.
- Assist in analyzing financial data and help prepare customers’ credit proposals.
- Conduct periodic reviews following credit policy and risk management guidelines.
- Lead or contribute to a significant project addressing real business challenges and present findings to key stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
Applicants must be final-year students or have graduated within the last 12 months with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. New Zealand or Australian citizens or permanent residents are eligible. The ideal candidate will be passionate about agribusiness, customer relations, and teamwork and hold degrees in Agribusiness, Agri Commerce, or related fields.
