About the Role
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is seeking dedicated individuals for various Agent and Officer positions (SP-03 & SP-04) at the Surrey National Verification and Collections Centre. While initial offers will be for temporary contracts typically ranging from 6 to 12 months, there is a possibility of extensions. Most positions require on-site work, with specific arrangements determined by operational needs. Flexible work arrangements are offered to support work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and collect outstanding amounts across various account types.
- Enforce compliance related to information slips and outstanding tax returns.
- Communicate with taxpayers via written correspondence, phone, and in a call center setting.
- Examine and correct tax and information returns.
- Validate and review income, benefit eligibility, deductions, and refund information.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support.
- Perform data entry into computer systems.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing paper and electronic correspondence.
Requirements
- A secondary school diploma is required.
- No prior experience is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided.
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in English (English Essential positions).
- For Bilingual Imperative positions, proficiency in both English and French is required, assessed through the Public Service Commission's Second Language Evaluation (SLE) for Reading Proficiency, Written Expression, and Oral Proficiency (BBB/BBB, BBC/BBC, or CBC/CBC).
- Candidates must be able to obtain a Reliability Status clearance.
- Must be able to successfully complete classroom and on-the-job training.
- Must be physically present to work in the office as required.
- For foreign education credentials, an assessment confirming Canadian equivalency from a recognized service is mandatory.
- For foreign accounting designations, confirmation from CPA Canada is required.

Eligibility
