Job description

Position Overview

Kids Inc. invites applications for a part-time Kitchen Assistant role based in Harold's Cross, Dublin 6W, for the 2026/2027 school year beginning 26th August 2026. This role supports our Afterschool programme, dedicated to providing children a comfortable, nurturing environment with nutritious meals after school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve nutritious snacks adhering strictly to the Healthy Eating Policy.
  • Safely reheat and distribute pre-cooked meals efficiently.
  • Assist the Centre Manager in planning weekly snack menus.
  • Maintain a hygienic, safe, and organized kitchen space.
  • Follow stringent food hygiene and HACCP standards, including meticulous documentation.
  • Operate kitchen appliances safely and effectively.
  • Ensure dietary needs and allergy considerations of children are respected during food preparation and serving.

Candidate Profile

  • Personable, dependable, and well-organized individual.
  • Background in kitchen, catering, or food preparation roles is preferred.
  • Possession of a current HACCP or Food Safety certification.
  • Sound knowledge of food hygiene protocols.
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Fluent command of the English language.

Additional Information

  • Hourly wage: €14.15
  • Guaranteed a minimum of 10 hours weekly.
  • Working hours consist of three-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, scheduled between 1:30pm and 6:30pm; precise times will be established prior to commencement.
  • Locations include St. Clare's Convent NS and Harold's Cross ETNS in Dublin 6W.
