Position Overview
Kids Inc. is inviting passionate individuals fluent in Irish (Gaeilge) to join our Afterschool Childcare team at Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua, Ballyogan, for the 2026/2027 school term starting 26th August 2026. This part-time role offers €18 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 10 hours weekly and typically 20-25 hours available. A €500 sign-on bonus is also offered, pursuant to conditions discussed at interview.

Role Details
Our Afterschool program delivers a secure, welcoming, and homely atmosphere where children can unwind, complete homework, and engage in diverse fun and educational activities post-school.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming and settling children post-school, ensuring smooth transitions into the afternoon program
- Supporting children with homework in a calm, organized setting, utilizing Irish where suitable
- Leading and joining a variety of activities such as sports, games, arts & crafts, imaginative and outdoor play—all through the Irish language
- Fostering social, emotional, physical, and creative growth among children
- Establishing and nurturing positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues using Gaeilge
- Assisting with daily operations of the childcare service
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for every child
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience with children is preferred but not mandatory
- Positive, dependable, and energetic approach to work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Genuine enthusiasm for child development and well-being
- Fluency in spoken Irish, confident conducting daily interactions with children and staff using the language
- Possession of a full driving licence is beneficial but not required
- Willingness to undergo Garda Vetting and provide references
