Job description
About the role
This position sits within Flight Operations, the group that keeps Emirates flights safe, efficient, and well coordinated. The team supports pilots and operational staff by ensuring reliable flight planning data, regulatory compliance, route documentation, navigation support, and airport information are all kept current and accurate.
Role purpose
The specialist will be responsible for maintaining the company data used across Lido, CORE, and the Overflight Permission Tool, along with the quality checks needed to make sure flight-planning data remains correct. The role also includes ownership of relevant company information in the Route Manual.
Key duties
- Submit overflight requests for Emirates scheduled services, including biannual applications, ad hoc extra sectors, aircraft deliveries, and charter operations. This also includes handling overflight approvals for Cargo flights and third-party operations, with cargo charter requests managed as needed.
- Keep the flight planning and operations control databases updated so plans are built using current and reliable information. Review NOTAM records in Lido every week to remove notices that are no longer active, and update company NOTAMs in the system on a daily basis when required.
- Maintain contact records for the agencies that Flight Dispatch and Flight Support work with, such as air traffic control units, civil aviation authorities involved in overflight permissions, and ATC teams at Emirates online destinations and alternates. Keep the airport directory and airport database up to date.
- Assist ASM Planning and ATM in preparing operational flight plans for route analysis work, including studies for new city pairs, proposed route changes for air traffic service providers, training flights, and delivery flights. Work with Navigation Services to define procedures for delivery flights so dispatchers on duty understand all requirements.
- Coordinate with Emirates stations to establish operating procedures for newly appointed handling agents and newly opened stations, and keep that information reflected in the airport database. Also support issue analysis and resolution for items raised through the action tracker and Pilots Special Reports related to Flight Operations Support.
- Regularly revise the EK Route Manual and Operations Manual Part C. Check all updates carefully, research the impact of each change, prepare final drafts for Flight Operations management approval, and make sure the Route Manual stays aligned with charting vendor data and AIPs. Review and maintain the Route and Aerodrome Guide and mirror that information in Lido.
- Continuously research operational needs and propose updates to the Route Manual and Operations Manual Part C. Anticipate requirements linked to Emirates network growth, such as aircraft-type changes, alternate airports, and new destinations, while identifying likely operational issues and practical solutions.
- Support ASM in managing Flight Operations Support content, data, and software updates across electronic flight bags for all fleets. Help assess EFB improvements to ensure crews receive information using the latest available technology.
- Carry out performance reviews for direct reports and monitor service delivery against budget and quality expectations, ensuring Flight Operations Support requirements are met consistently.
Qualifications and experience
Flight Dispatch qualification or another relevant industry qualification is preferred. Candidates should also have airline operations experience, or at least 2 years of experience in Emirates Operations Control as a Flight Dispatcher.
Knowledge and skills
The role requires hands-on experience managing electronic flight bag content for a global network, ideally for at least 2 years, along with familiarity in maintaining flight operations manuals and related documentation.
Application and hiring process
Emirates Group welcomes applicants from around the world and employs people from more than 170 nationalities. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews with hiring managers. Successful candidates will then receive an offer through the recruiter, followed by onboarding support from the group’s onboarding team.
Compensation and benefits
The role offers an attractive tax-free salary in Dubai, plus travel benefits that include discounts on flights and hotel stays worldwide.
