Overview
Join a dynamic team dedicated to creating trust and solving critical challenges in society. This role offers an opportunity to influence the financial success and strategic operations of the Advisory business within a leading professional services firm in New Zealand. The position is for 12 months on a fixed-term contract basis located in Auckland.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end financial reporting for the Advisory team, analyzing revenue, margins, costs, utilization, work-in-progress, debtors, and key metrics.
- Collaborate with senior Advisory leaders to deliver clear financial insights and challenge assumptions to support strategic and commercial decisions.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting activities including scenario modelling and risk assessment.
- Detect performance patterns and identify areas for profitability improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Implement and leverage approved AI, automation, and analytical tools to enhance reporting accuracy, speed, and insights while minimizing manual effort.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional accountancy qualification such as CA ANZ, CPA or equivalent, with strong expertise in management accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Approximately 5 to 8+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably in FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting, or business partnering.
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to connect financial data to business drivers and communicate complex insights to non-finance audiences effectively.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel techniques and data analysis, with enthusiasm for adopting AI-driven tools and methods responsibly.
- Adaptable, curious, and eager to apply emerging technologies in finance.
