Role overview
McCann in Aotearoa, formerly FCB Aotearoa, is looking for an Account Manager to join its Auckland team. This is a full-time client service position within an agency that has recently brought together FCB, DDB and Clemenger under the McCann name in Aotearoa. The move combines strong creative reputation, cultural influence and a long track record of producing standout work for brands in New Zealand and beyond.
The role offers the chance to work in a lively agency setting and contribute to high-impact campaigns for a major New Zealand brand and retail account. The team is seeking someone with energy, drive, curiosity and a collaborative approach, along with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
What the role involves
- Act as a day-to-day point of contact for clients and help manage their needs smoothly.
- Oversee work through every stage, from receiving briefs through to execution and final delivery.
- Partner with the Account Director and Group Business Director, providing support on account management tasks.
- Coordinate closely with creative, production, studio and broader agency teams to deliver effective communication work.
- Contribute to a fast-paced retail and brand account with many moving parts and quick turnaround times.
What we are looking for
- 2 to 3 years of experience in an advertising agency environment.
- Likely operating at Account Executive level and ready to move up into an Account Manager role.
- Comfortable balancing retail and brand work, including rapid deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building ability with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- A practical, solutions-led mindset with curiosity, initiative and a team-first attitude.
- Passion, ambition, enthusiasm, persistence and a proactive work style.
- Clear communication and a positive sense of humour / good banter.
Work environment
You will be part of a vibrant, creative agency environment surrounded by experienced people working on award-winning, behaviour-change focused advertising. The culture is described as diverse, passionate and supportive, with an emphasis on bringing your whole self to work.
