Role Overview
Enable Ireland is hiring highly motivated Adult Support Workers for its Limerick Adult Services, based at the Limerick City Hub. This position involves delivering personalised support within the adult day service setting and in service owners’ homes.
The role includes help with personal care, mobility, and enabling access to community services as well as the virtual day service. A key part of the job is encouraging opportunities that support training, employment, and deeper participation in local communities.
Contract and Working Hours
Permanent full-time and part-time arrangements are available. Hours may be full-time or part-time depending on the contract offered.
Pay and Leave
The salary scale is €35,070 to €42,440 pro rata per annum, with long service increments applicable. This pay scale is expected to increase in 2026 in line with the recent WRC agreement on enhanced pay adjustments for Section 39 organisations. Annual leave entitlement is 30 days per year, pro rata.
Key Duties
- Work collaboratively within the adult day service team and across service owners’ homes.
- Provide individualised support tailored to each person’s needs.
- Assist with personal care requirements and mobility support.
- Support access to community-based services and the virtual day service.
- Encourage participation in training, work-related options, and social inclusion.
Essential Requirements
- QQI Level 5 Care Skills qualification, including a module on special needs, or an equivalent qualification covering 8 modules in total.
- At least 1 year of experience working specifically with adults with autism.
- A full, clean driving licence with no restrictions, plus a willingness to drive Enable Ireland vehicles.
- Eligibility to work in the state.
- Strong communication ability and accurate recording practices.
- Understanding of the social model of disability.
- Good knowledge of adult protection procedures and lone working.
Desirable Experience
- Prior work with adults in a day service environment.
- Experience in a community-based setting.
- Familiarity with person-centred planning and the Key Worker system.
- Knowledge of the New Directions guidelines.
