Role Overview
The position entails serving as the Administrative Support Specialist in the 10th Judicial District located in Olathe, Kansas. This role is a supervisory and administrative position reporting directly to the Court Services Administrative Officer (CSAO), overseeing the administrative support unit's functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring smooth office operations by coordinating logistics and organizational procedures.
- Managing fiscal tasks including budget oversight, purchase processing, payments, and requisitions for Court Services and District Court Administration.
- Handling recruitment, hiring, and supervision of staff within the unit.
- Managing human resources duties such as maintaining personnel and KCJIS files, while ensuring adherence to FMLA and ADA regulations.
- Acting as a liaison between District Court Services and Johnson County Financial Management and Administration.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
The ideal applicant exhibits exemplary organizational and time management abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and collaborates effectively with court personnel and county departments. They will exercise discretion and independent judgment in administration and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma with at least three years of progressively responsible administrative office experience, preferably including financial and budgeting duties.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and experience in purchasing, personnel management, or staff supervision are advantageous. Proficiency in computers, especially Oracle, Microsoft Word, and Excel, is highly valued.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, stay composed under pressure, and effectively prioritize multiple deadlines is essential.
Additional Information
The position offers an annual salary of $47,471.66 and is classified as Grade 26. Employment benefits are provided through the Kansas Judicial Branch.
