Administration Manager - South Canterbury Toyota

About the Role

South Canterbury Toyota is seeking a skilled Administration Manager to lead its administration team and contribute to the overall success of the dealership. This full-time, 40-hour per week role is based in Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand and involves overseeing all facets of office administration within a busy and dynamic environment.

As part of the leadership team within the dealership and supported by the broader McDermid Auto Collective’s management structure, you will be responsible for managing daily administrative operations, improving processes, fostering team development, and supporting the dealership’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of three administrative staff members.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Record, reconcile and balance General Ledger transactions.
• Prepare financial reports and ensure timely IRD payments.
• Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve efficiency.
• Provide leadership and development support to team members.
• Maintain effective communication and coordination with customers and staff across the business.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in office administration with comprehensive knowledge in various administrative functions.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong time management abilities and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with both staff and customers professionally.
• Customer-focused attitude with an enthusiastic and approachable personality.
• Proficiency in computer systems and relevant software.
• Possession of a full New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
