Job description

Role overview

Join the Land Transport Authority as an enforcement officer focused on active mobility and road safety. In this position, you will patrol public roads and paths, either on your own or as part of a team, and take action when motor vehicle users or active mobility device users breach regulations.

Beyond enforcement, you will also represent LTA on the ground by speaking with members of the public and explaining the schemes and practices that support responsible use of these vehicles and devices. The role contributes directly to safer roads and paths for the community.

Training

Successful applicants will be required to complete a 3 to 4 week training programme, which includes a written competency assessment, before taking on the duties of the role.

Candidate profile

The authority is looking for someone who can handle field enforcement work, interact confidently with the public, and remain effective in both solo and team-based settings. Prior exposure to enforcement, operational work, or other public-facing roles may be considered relevant, and candidates with a strong track record could be placed into more senior positions.

Working conditions and additional requirements

This position may involve shift work and other ad hoc assignments, including support for major national events on public holidays. Officers may also be deployed to different enforcement-related postings within the organisation as needed.

Applicants should be physically fit, have good vision, and possess normal colour vision. A Class 2A licence or higher is considered an advantage. The role also calls for a positive outlook, strong self-discipline, composure under pressure, and the ability to solve problems in challenging situations.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Candidates must be able to communicate in English, and knowledge of Malay, Tamil, or Mandarin will be an added advantage.
