Role objective

The role is focused on building the liability business by bringing in new customers from the open market, helping CRS-Unsecured Loans teams convert existing borrowing customers into liability customers, and deepening relationships with current customers through suitable cross-sell offers. The incumbent will also support customers in using ATMs and BCs and encourage greater use of alternate banking channels.

Role size

The scope of the role is measured through branch-level targets, including the CASA book, TD book, segment-wise book such as NR, senior citizen, and HNI, and product-wise numbers for CA, SA, and TD. Financial and non-financial size details are otherwise not specified.

Key responsibilities

The position requires the holder to achieve liability targets through open-market sourcing and conversion of existing customers. This includes working from branch-generated leads, personal leads, customer referrals, and alternate channels, while keeping a strong pipeline database, meeting shortlisted prospects, and managing relationships afterward. The role also involves accompanying CRS-Unsecured Loans staff in the field to support conversions, passing quality leads for other secured loan products to the relevant loan officers, and sharing market and product feedback with the Sales Manager - Liabilities.

On the customer side, the manager must interact in a professional and courteous manner, provide quick and accurate service, reduce dormancy and attrition through regular engagement, and resolve customer queries related to accounts, FD/RD, remittances, and third-party products. Internally, the role includes guiding customers through account-opening forms, verifying KYC documents, collecting required signatures, maintaining strict compliance with KYC norms, and encouraging use of ATMs and BCs. The job also requires staying current on liability products, understanding other branch products, supporting CRS-Unsecured Loans teams on liability-related queries, completing mandatory training requirements, and ensuring that goal setting, mid-year reviews, and appraisals happen within the required timelines.

Requirements

Applicants should be graduates, preferably from commerce or related disciplines, and should have at least 3 years of experience, ideally in sales. AMFI or IRDA certification is required. The role also calls for a basic understanding of retail banking products, strong documentation ability, a compliance-oriented mindset, and fluent communication in the local language. Additional expectations include courteous customer service, good time management, selling ability, telephonic cold-calling skills, and willingness to travel or relocate as business needs and career opportunities demand. The role also relies on planning and organizing, execution focus, relationship management, and customer focus.
