Job description
Role Overview
This is an hourly contract position for an Accounts Receivable (A/R) follow-up manager. The work offers a flexible schedule, and payment is made weekly through Stripe or Wise. The hourly rate is $75.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee A/R follow-up activity across commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care payers to help close outstanding claims on time.
- Review model-suggested A/R follow-up actions, claim status inquiry results, and draft payer communications to confirm they are accurate and effective.
- Handle claim status follow-up processes, including electronic 276/277 EDI inquiries, payer portal checks, and phone-based resolution efforts.
- Rank and work A/R queues based on ageing category, payer type, and claim value to improve recovery outcomes.
- Spot and fix payment variances, payer processing issues, and underpaid claims.
- Tag model outputs and supply structured feedback that can be used to improve training data.
Candidate Profile
- You should have substantial background in A/R follow-up, payer collections, or revenue cycle operations, ideally in a management-level role.
- Hands-on experience with claim status follow-up, EDI 276/277 transactions, and payer-specific collection procedures is important.
- You need experience managing large A/R queues across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payers.
- Familiarity with billing systems and A/R management software is required.
- Strong written and spoken English, along with careful attention to detail when reviewing model-generated content, is essential.
