Role Overview
As an Accounts Receivable Analyst, your focus will be on administering customer credit limits, analyzing and resolving credit deductions, and assisting with timely cash application and collections. This position safeguards company revenue by scrutinizing and disputing invalid claims, identifying root causes behind deductions, and coordinating cross-functionally to address issues swiftly and precisely. This is a full-time, onsite role at our Boca Raton, FL headquarters without any people management duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly analyze customer deductions related to short payments, returns, pricing differences, and freight claims to verify legitimacy.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations teams to investigate and resolve disputed deductions efficiently.
- Process credit memos or request repayments according to deduction outcomes and company policies.
- Monitor and maintain accurate customer account balances by resolving open chargebacks and deductions promptly.
- Keep detailed records of all deduction cases ensuring adherence to organizational guidelines.
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness and track credit exposure to recommend adjustments to credit limits when necessary.
- Assist cash application teams with precise deduction coding and reconciling remittance advices.
- Develop and deliver periodical deduction aging, credit aging reports, and performance indicators to management.
- Identify deduction patterns and contribute to ongoing enhancements of billing and claims processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- 0 to 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, credit analysis, or deduction management.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields is preferred.
- Proficiency and experience with ERP platforms such as Great Plains, Oracle, or NetSuite, and solid skills in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with deduction tracking systems is advantageous.
- Strong analytical abilities with keen attention to detail and a methodical investigative approach.
- Excellent communication skills paired with effective conflict management capabilities.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in high-volume accounts receivable or shared services settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of trade promotion, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and retailer deduction protocols (such as Walmart and Amazon) is a plus.
- Understanding of root cause analysis and a continuous process improvement mindset is favored.
- Experience specifically with Great Plains software is an additional benefit.
