Role Overview

The role of Accounts Payable Accountant involves managing supplier account reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring all relevant documents from suppliers are collected, and resolving all account discrepancies. This position also oversees monthly payments to suppliers and manages supplier discounts and rebates.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain accurate vendor files.
  • Organize and manage all documentation related to accounts payable and supporting records.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of supplier accounts.
  • Process supplier payments in line with contractual agreements.
  • Communicate with vendors to clarify and settle account differences and address inquiries.
  • Monitor, record, and report on monthly supplier discounts and rebates.
  • Responsible for VAT filing and related reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the accounting department for various analyses and to support process enhancement projects.
  • Prepare and coordinate requirements for both internal and external annual audits.
  • Engage in special assignments and ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Between 3 to 5 years’ experience handling accounts payable, purchase-to-inventory cycles, supplier reconciliations, supplier rebates, and VAT tax filing.
  • Previous experience within MENA region, specifically Saudi Arabia, is preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience in pharmaceutical retail industry is an advantage.
