Job description

Role overview

We are looking for a meticulous Accounts Assistant to become part of a busy and encouraging finance team in a growing organisation. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on transactional accounting, works comfortably in a fast-moving environment, and is committed to producing precise results.

The role supports a business that handles a large number of transactions across the year. You will help ensure financial information is processed promptly and accurately while collaborating with colleagues across different teams.

What you will do

  • Handle the full accounts payable process from start to finish.
  • Manage supplier invoices and carry out payment processing.
  • Process commission payments and complete the related reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations.
  • Process employee expenses and credit card transactions.
  • Keep financial and transactional records accurate and up to date.
  • Support month-end reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules.
  • Respond to finance queries raised by internal teams.
  • Protect the accuracy and integrity of data within finance systems.
  • Provide general finance administration and team assistance as needed.

What we are looking for

The successful applicant will bring 2-3 years of experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable, Accounts Administrator, or similar finance support role. You should be comfortable working with large transaction volumes and be able to process them efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.

Strong reconciliation capability is important, along with excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on getting the numbers right. You will also need to juggle multiple priorities, work to deadlines, and communicate effectively with others. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills are required, as is a proactive and cooperative attitude with a readiness to support the wider team.

Ideal profile

This opportunity suits someone who values organisation, accuracy, and dependable finance support, and who enjoys contributing to the smooth running of a collaborative team.
