About the Role
AKS Prime Group is looking for an experienced and driven Accounting Team Leader for its Dubai office. This position suits a hands-on accounting professional with UAE advisory background, team leadership capability, and solid knowledge of local tax and compliance rules.
In this role, you will guide the accounting team, oversee client accounting assignments, make sure regulatory obligations are met, and help strengthen both team capability and internal processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, check, and sign off the accounting team’s work so client bookkeeping and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
- Make sure all client reconciliations are finished, examined, and approved according to company standards.
- Raise any unresolved accounting, compliance, or operational matters with senior management when needed.
- Keep management updated with clear reconciliation status reports.
- Act as the main internal contact for accounting-related queries from other departments.
- Run weekly team meetings and share progress updates with the Accounting Manager.
- Assist with monthly performance review discussions and team development plans.
- Prepare and coordinate annual DMCC audit report submissions.
- Track FTA portals and ensure VAT and Corporate Tax registrations, filings, amendments, and other compliance actions are completed correctly and within deadlines.
- Handle Corporate Tax registration and deregistration processes as needed.
- Distribute work effectively across the team and monitor productivity.
- Identify training gaps and support each team member’s growth.
- Oversee onboarding and induction for junior accounting hires.
- Improve accounting workflows and raise service delivery standards continuously.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in a UAE-based accounting advisory or consulting firm.
- Demonstrated experience managing or supervising an accounting team.
- Strong understanding of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, FTA rules, and compliance obligations.
- Professional-level fluency in English and Russian.
- Well-developed leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfort working with accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
